Taunton's future Clean Energy Community Resiliency Hub ("The Loft")

Groundbreaking in all the ways – a truly innovative, thoughtful and forward-looking project in the City of Taunton.

Thank you to the city and all involved for the tour of Taunton's future Clean Energy Community Resiliency Hub ("The Loft"). We're excited about this project and the team's aim to create a scalable model for sustainable development in other communities across the state any beyond. Capital Energy will be capturing and communicating the story on film - keep an eye out for a first-hand account around this exciting development.

Here are a few themes of the project:

✅ Community-Driven: Built by and for the community, with ongoing input to ensure it meets their needs.

✅ Workforce Development: A new Innovation Center will train the next generation for an equitable & clean energy transition economy.

✅ Net Zero & Resilient: Powered by renewable energy and its own microgrid, the building will achieve net-zero energy consumption and the space will double as an emergency community shelter.

The collaboration behind this project includes so many inspiring people and organizations including (and not limited to!): Misha Thomas, Tonya Lobo, T.R.U.E. Diversity , Colleen Doherty, City of Taunton, Moneer Azzam (Beacon Climate Innovations), Vanessa Fox (Sovations).
